Essex Park and Ride

Beat the traffic with stress free travel, affordable, easy to park, toilet facilities and help on help on hand if needed.  By using our service you’re creating a better environment for everyone who lives, works, shops and goes to school in towns / cities and more convenient than parking in the town centre.

Pricing

You can use a ticket to hop on and off any park & ride bus all day. For example, get off at Parkway or the railway station, then get back on to go to the city centre, then back out to the park & ride site. 

Please pay for your ticket on the bus with cash or contactless payment


Parking only

If you are not using the bus service you must purchase a park only ticket which can be  purchased via MiPermit location 744023 per day £3.60

Park and Pedal

Bring your bike with you, leave your car at the site and cycle to your destination. Park and Pedal is £3.60 per day. We have bike racks should you chose to leave your bike at site overnight. We also offer Secure cycle lockers £20 per month, which includes free parking. Please visit Bikeaway to secure your locker.

FAQs

Can I use my Concessionary bus pass on the Park and Ride?

  • Travel is £1.50 return at all times, for holders of a valid Essex Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) Pass.

How many can I have in my group?

  • Group tickets are for up to 2 adults and 3 Group tickets are for up to 2 adults and 3

Can I take my dog/pet on the bus?

  • Disabled people are allowed to travel with their guide, assistance or hearing dog. The passenger must comply with any instructions given by the driver. The carrying of other dogs is allowed if they are well behaved.

What should I do if I think I have left something on one of the Park and Ride services?

Can I walk up and use the park and ride

  • Yes, you can walk to the park and ride and pay on the bus

Can I collect my vehicle after the site is closed?

  • Cars can exit the site through the barrier system. In emergencies customers can contact Chelmsford City Council’s CCTV Control Centre on 01245 606 299  (24 hours).
