When making a change to a subsidised service (one which Essex County Council supports the Transport Provider to run), we first like to understand the impact for people using the service, as well as ensuring we meet our criteria set out in the Bus Strategy "Getting Around in Essex".

Ongoing consultations

Service 80/80A/81/81A Colchester - Manningtree operated by Konectbuses.

Proposed change to Timetable and Route

Expected Start Date: Monday 28 July 2025

Consultation Period: Wednesday 21 May – Wednesday 04 June 2025

Proposal:

Route change to service 81/81A which currently serves Mill Road and Turner Road. The proposal is for the service to serve Olympic Boulevard, Via Urbis Romanae and Northern Approach Road. Passengers who use the service to travel to and from the hospital will be able to use Hospital Path Bus Stop which is located on Northern Approach Road.

Revised timetable for multiple journeys throughout the day for service 80/80A/81/81A.

Essex County Council (ECC) would appreciate your views on the proposed timetable change for services 80/80A/81/81A (Monday – Saturday) and the proposed route change for Service 81/81A (Monday – Saturday).

Service 9 Great Holland - Walton on the Naze - Operated by Konectbuses

Essex County Council have reviewed the comments received for the proposed change of route, as set out below.

Outcome: The changes will be implemented by Konectbuses.

Start Date: Monday 02 June 2025.

Service 9 Great Holland - Walton on the Naze - Operated by Konectbuses

Proposed change to Route

Expected Start Date: Monday 2nd June 2025.

Consultation Period: Thursday 24th April – Thursday 8th May.

Proposal:

Route change to the service 9 which currently serves Frinton Road, Elm Tree Avenue, Edenside, Skyrmans Fee, Frietuna Road (in both directions). The proposal is for the service to instead serve Halstead Road, Walton Road, Elm Tree Avenue, Edenside, Skyrmans Fee, Frietuna Road, Frinton Road (in both directions). This is to replace parts of the route which are currently served by commercially operated service 98 which is due to be withdrawn from Sunday 1st June 2025. Service 98A is not being withdrawn, which is financially supported by Essex County Council (ECC).
