When making a change to a subsidised service (one which Essex County Council supports the Transport Provider to run), we first like to understand the impact for people using the service, as well as ensuring we meet our criteria set out in the Bus Strategy "Getting Around in Essex".

Outcome of Consultations

Service 306 Wicken Bonhunt - Bishop's Stortford

Essex County Council received no responses to this the above consultation. The changes to the route and the timetable will take affect on Monday 02 September 2024.

Bus Network Consultation 2023

A decision has been made on the outcome of the recent local bus consultation carried out between 13 July – 05 October 2023. You can read about the decision. Please click on the tab marked ‘Reports and Equality Impact Assessment’. The covering document is the final one ending ‘CMA’ and the detail for each service is set out in the second, third and fourth documents ‘App A1, App A2 and App A3’.

July 2024 changes

Following the results of the public consultation made public in January, Essex County Council is pleased to share the outcome of the proposed July 2024 changes.

Ongoing consultations

Service 505 Waltham Cross - Harlow and Service 13 Waltham Abbey - Epping Station

Essex County Council ( ECC ) wants your views on the proposed route and timetable changes for the above services. These changes will help to improve the reliability of the services in line with changing traffic congestion.

Proposal: To withdraw the service 505 operating between Harlow Bus Station and Templefields and a revised timetable. Also, a change in service number to 15 / 15A. Service 13 revised timetable. Also, a change in service number to 13 / 13A / 13B.

Consultation Period: 15 July 2024 – 19 July 2024

Service 306 Wicken Bonhunt - Bishop's Stortford

Essex County Council ( ECC ) wants your views on the proposed route and timetable changes for the above service. These changes will reflect the relocation of The Bishop's Stortford High School.

Proposal: To adjust the route and the timetable of the service 306 to serve the schools / colleges on the route in a way we hope will be considered best suited to each opening and closing time overall.

Consultation Period: 12 July 2024 – 16 July 2024

Essex Bus Survey 2024 - During March 2024, Essex County Council conducted its own Bus User Survey. This provides Essex with a snapshot response of the current network at key locations and as it follows on from the 2023 survey, we are able to review our latest feedback against the previous findings and compare the public perception of the bus network from both face to- face surveys and completed surveys on-line.
