A new shuttle bus service to help residents in Boreham connect to rail services.
Essex County Council is putting plans in place for a new shuttle bus service between Boreham village and Beaulieu Park Station. The aim is to improve transport links for residents and help more people access rail services.
Opened in October 2025, Beaulieu Park Station is a key part of the sustainable transport network. Serving north-east Chelmsford and the growing Beaulieu Park development.
Operated by Greater Anglia, the station offers services every 30 minutes. Destinations include Colchester, Ipswich and Norfolk. It also offers regular connections to Chelmsford city centre and London.
Despite its proximity to the station, Boreham village is currently served by a limited number of bus services. Residents and local councillors have shared the need for improved links between the village and the station.
To address this, Essex County Council intends to use bus grant funding to establish a commercial shuttle service. This will connect Boreham village with Beaulieu Park Station. The service should be available from early 2027, subject to final arrangements.
Councillor Mark Webster, Essex County Council's Cabinet Member for Highways and Infrastructure, said: "Beaulieu Park Station is an important transport hub for the area, and we want as many residents as possible to benefit from the opportunities it provides.
This proposed shuttle service would improve connections for Boreham residents, making it easier to access jobs, education, leisure destinations and wider rail services while supporting our ambition to encourage more travel across Essex."
